are the tactical vests still required? i didnt think i saw them on the homepages set of rules, but i'd just like to make sure.

No, but they are a great way to carry pods,  ;)

You can't beat the price to register and paint! You'll have a great time as well and on a great FIELD! Not only is our new field for paintball, but its also a current gun club, SWAT training, and we are currently in the move of adding a moto cross track, a ATV course and also maybe RC Racing Track. WOW its fun for the whole family.

This sounds like a lot of fun but the BDU thing kills it for me.  I wear a brownish jersey with black skulls, black speedball pants with some urban camo and an urban camo mask...but I play 95% woods.  I spent a lot of time and money trying different stuff (starting with BDUs, camo & OD of all kinds, etc.) to find something comfortable, durable, breathable and kind of cool looking.  If teams just had to have matching unis, I'd definitely be game.  I signed up on this site just to say this b/c I'd love to join but unis are a deal breaker for me.

unfortunately, its not for everyone, however bare in mind, you could wear bdu's for a day, play, and then go back to wearing whatever you want. the sad part is you'll probably miss a prime opportunity to play a great game, simply because you don't want to put on one of those sets of cami's you used to wear.

But I digress, this is a moot issue.  You can wear your speed ball jerseys and pants if you like, as long as your team looks the same.  Furthermore, If you wear a speed ball style jersey, you have to wear a tactical vest, otherwise, you can use a pod pack.

To be honest I found that players with tiger stripe BDUs are harder to spot.  I am considering getting a set.

Blade1 although you are based as an Army unit have you thought about using USMC style digitals?  I heard via military.com some time ago that the ACUs are having problems of ripping and velcro issues, or so I've heard.  Correct me if I am wrong but I thought that there are more terrain styles for the USMC digis.

Yeah dude you're right, but the only problem was that the Velcro on the BDU/ ACU's were giving away positions. When pulled Velcro makes a pretty loud noise, now they were putting that on the pockets where small utilities and knifes were held. Picture you close near an enemy and rather take him out quiet with a knife with a Velcro closure. NOT COOL!!!
