UNIFORM POLICY

But we aren't going to have civilians are we?  Least not to the best of my knowledge.  Anyway, I've said my piece so I'm just gonna stop debating the issue.  I'm sure they've already made up their mind.

I doubt there will be civilians (unless there's a mission with hostages), but why couldn't a team play the OPFOR? I'd love to see a bunch of guys wearing keffiyehs with AKA5s or a group of guys wearing all green w/green bandanas and AKA5s and UZIs. I think that would add to the fun for everybody.

sounds good. Would black and grey speedball pants be ok? Its part of our team uniform (Black/White/Grey)

I would say no. For the reason we don't want others thinking this is just another style of speedball. We want to stick to the realism of TACTICAL format, and to do so we need to follow tactical uniforms. Sorry, but I also put my speedball uniform away for this one,  ;D but good question.

hmmm....you said at the begining that black is fine....

Would Special Ops Paintball clothing line be allowed?

it's a hybrid between paintball & military style clothing.

mainly a in digital camo (for now).

YES.  :)
and...
what about a Paintball Jersey with a custom camo print?

our team recently added some scenario play and creating some custom styled camo gear... just looking to see if we have to add the expense of yet another uniform... if we must then we must.. just thought i would ask as our coffers are still only lightly lined.

camo jerseys are fine.  :)
then you go one to say that the PCS digital camo outfit are ok as well...those are "speedball" just in camo print....
what if i wore black speedball pants, that had a PCS logo on them?

i certainly hope you don't force everyone to wear b.d.u.s, or the PCS outfits....i understand, no bright flashy speedball jerseys, but what if there were subdued or black?

i understand that some of the players here are wanting to keep to the "realism" aspect....and i am all for it....and i too, do not want to see a group of guys out there running around looking like "dynasty", but to say we have to wear a certain 'type' of clothing just to make some players feel like it real, seems silly....i guess all i am saying is....you have to see our jersey and pants first, after that you will not think of it as speedball....we look very militaristic/utilitarian, and not flashy...but it is in all practicality....speedball apparel just like the PCS outfits. as soon as i get the new jerseys in i will email you an image and you can judge for yourself....

What about a Middle Eastern look that was brightly colored and wasn't uniform? What about a street gang look that was all red, blue, etc? How about Viet Cong (black pajama looking) styled outfits? How about  jeans and leather with an MC logo on the jackets? There are a lot of "uniforms" that are technically outside of those guidelines, but would still be appropriate for a tactical game.
I doubt there will be civilians (unless there's a mission with hostages), but why couldn't a team play the OPFOR? I'd love to see a bunch of guys wearing keffiyehs with AKA5s or a group of guys wearing all green w/green bandanas and AKA5s and UZIs. I think that would add to the fun for everybody.

yeah, that would be cool, if that was the teams "theme" and it was obvious....that would be a cool match....i agree

Just throwing in my 2 cents worth.  Personally, I would like to see everyone in BDUs of some sort.  A line has to be drawn somewhere in regards to what is allowed and what isn't.  This particular league is unique in the fact it will be all tactical...lets keep it unique and leave the jerseys at home for this one.  I would even go a step further and say all footwear needs to be either law enforcement or military.  They don't need to be milspec, but at least leave the tennis shoes and cleats at home.  To get into a pair of jungle boots and cheap BDUs is not a major expense.  Aside from the masks we have to wear, I say everything you bring on the field should appear to be something a recognized military or law enforcement agency uses in their operations.

i just dont think you'll get the people you want with these requirments. maybe they're not a huge expense, but i'd figure minimully it'd be about 60 bucks for BDU jacket, pants, and decent militaryish boots. you can get cheaper knockoff versions, i know 'cause i've done it, but they suck. 60 bucks isnt a huge expense, but for people on the fence it might tip them one way or another.

Listen you guys could argue this all day but what he is saying is they want everyone to to dress like our soldiers and to argue the point about what the league wants isnt going to get you anywhere so stop. Im sure if you show up dressed like an idiot who doesnt want to take the tournament serious you wont be allowed to play, look proffesional and act like an adult. Its the rules of the league.

oh, it's the rules!
i was unaware that this has become a rule...i thought it was up for debate....

so it's full military or law enforcement or you are not allowed, correct?

so the PCS stuff is out?
camo jerseys are out?

so, does this also mean that the markers MUST be full military or law enforcement?
no a-5s, or sp-8s, or zeus?

i mean i would hate to show up in my military gear with a paintball looking marker and not be allowed to play because i was considered an idiot...

I understand what you’re saying, but when you have a niche, you certainly won’t be pleasing everyone…so you cannot expect everyone to come.  I have been involved in a few historical reenactments (French and Indian War period), and some reenactments have very lenient requirements, whereas some are very picky upon the clothing, equipment, and accoutrements that are brought upon the camp and field.  I see this tournament no differently.  Tactical Ten is a niche market; those that want to play hardcore tactical games with other like-minded people.  If I wanted to go play with speedballers or those that want to play in jeans and a t-shirt, then there are a lot of options out there.  But the reason I got so excited about this particular event was the tactical-hardcore-niche that is hard to find.

Now, I am not implying your saying to wear anything, but I was simply replying back that you cannot please everyone and some people will not want to go regardless.  Just like if it becomes too lenient, some people will not want to come.

I would not qualify these posts as arguments, but rather debate.  And in my opinion, debate is healthy…especially when the owners and producers want feedback and peoples opinion.

i thought it was up for debate....

Exactly, keep the good ideas flowing.

i mean i would hate to show up in my military gear with a paintball looking marker and not be allowed to play because i was considered an idiot...

The nice thing about this entire opportunity is that they plan to sell the RAP4 Gen5s at an incredibly low price--assuming you pre-register.  Sure, it may cost someone a few bucks to get one, but at that sweet price, how can you afford not to.  For more info, check out number 10 at this link: http://tacticalten.com/forum/index.php/topic,34.msg130.html#msg130

I fully understand what the uniform people are getting at. I still believe that the arguments I had are legit. I think it would be fun for people to dress as terrorists, gang bangers, an MC, Viet Cong, maybe even a squad from Unreal, Halo, or Gears of War. As long as they're uniform, what makes that so bad?

yeah, i am in the middle of making a m249 ( yeah, i have heard all the flames about that already, thanks ) and a psg-1, and i have access to alot of types of tactical markers....i was merely trying to make a point, if you push the issue of realism to the point that the pants and shirt HAVE to be military/law inforcement to maintain the realism, then wouldn't the a-5 just blow the whole image.....i know alot of people will be using those....it was more or less a sarcastic remark, sorry....hope i don't have to get a hair cut....

like i said before, when my stuff comes in, i will submit a photo.

geeze, thats a good price and everything, but it still isnt cheap. i'll bide my time with the uniform thing for now. if this group gets enough members with the requirments it has no i'll eat my words, but i just dont think it'll happen. especially if the nessesity for militaryish looking guns is going to be a requirment. idk, maybe im wrong, but i just dont see it happening.

Maybe not the guns. I can see that part. But uniforms I think we can all do. $45 average and you have a set. Thats not even a case of paint in most events.

will tiger stripe speedball paints made by redz be ok because our sponser is going to give us some soon and we will have to wear them every time we play in something like this.
