i just dont think you'll get the people you want with these requirments. maybe they're not a huge expense, but i'd figure minimully it'd be about 60 bucks for BDU jacket, pants, and decent militaryish boots. you can get cheaper knockoff versions, i know 'cause i've done it, but they suck. 60 bucks isnt a huge expense, but for people on the fence it might tip them one way or another.
I understand what you’re saying, but when you have a niche, you certainly won’t be pleasing everyone…so you cannot expect everyone to come. I have been involved in a few historical reenactments (French and Indian War period), and some reenactments have very lenient requirements, whereas some are very picky upon the clothing, equipment, and accoutrements that are brought upon the camp and field. I see this tournament no differently. Tactical Ten is a niche market; those that want to play hardcore tactical games with other like-minded people. If I wanted to go play with speedballers or those that want to play in jeans and a t-shirt, then there are a lot of options out there. But the reason I got so excited about this particular event was the tactical-hardcore-niche that is hard to find.
Now, I am not implying your saying to wear anything, but I was simply replying back that you cannot please everyone and some people will not want to go regardless. Just like if it becomes too lenient, some people will not want to come.
Listen you guys could argue this all day but what he is saying is they want everyone to to dress like our soldiers and to argue the point about what the league wants isnt going to get you anywhere so stop. Im sure if you show up dressed like an idiot who doesnt want to take the tournament serious you wont be allowed to play, look proffesional and act like an adult. Its the rules of the league.
I would not qualify these posts as arguments, but rather debate. And in my opinion, debate is healthy…especially when the owners and producers want feedback and peoples opinion.
i thought it was up for debate....
Exactly, keep the good ideas flowing.
i mean i would hate to show up in my military gear with a paintball looking marker and not be allowed to play because i was considered an idiot...
The nice thing about this entire opportunity is that they plan to sell the RAP4 Gen5s at an incredibly low price--assuming you pre-register. Sure, it may cost someone a few bucks to get one, but at that sweet price, how can you afford not to. For more info, check out number 10 at this link:
