Herc, have we confirmed positions on the team for the league? If possible I would like to volunteer for the sniper position.

Ok done,  ;D

wow, my first post at TTPL!

hello all!

hey HitMan007, will the sniper rifles be able to chrono closer to 300fps, if it was a dedicated sniper rifle..i am making one that uses the ACP 3.0 10 round mag, will be mounted inside a PSG-1 airsoft, based on a stock agd automag....so will dedicated sniper rifles be allowed to approach the 300 fps safety limit?

also, i have asked this on another board, but don't forget about the heavy gunner role! <--thats me....m249, the saw is law!

thanks

Oh yeah, another question. Will RAP4's be able to go over 300 FPS?

I think we will stick to 280FPS. Remember there is a lot of CQB in this.

Definetly won't be a RAM friendly event then. What about for sniping with RAMS. Can we go over 280 then? Or will it basically be .68 only because of the FPS cap?

I will work with the field owners to allow the FPS so all types are allowed. Please give me some time. Thanks

Trust me I know it has,  ;) that was one of the first things you asked me when joining our team,  ;D and I want nothing more then to give RAM users a place to use them.... ;D

Hey HitMan,

I am not sure how the field owners would look at this, but what if the sniper-rifles were only used for targets over 50-feet and on non-human targets at any range.  And when the sniper runs into a CQB situation, they have to rely upon their backup marker (sidearm or other)?  This would hopefully avoid shooting each other at close range beyond the 280fps.  The sniper-rifle can be identified somehow in the game so that everyone (more importantly the refs) knows what the marker look like…maybe a small white cloth on the stock.

Yes we are looking into this. We are talking about setting up "sniper towers" for the snipers to shoot from and earn points for there team as the game is being played. They would have to shoot across the field at still targets for points. Or hit the target before the team can move even closer to the enemy. Just some thought we have put into this. Any other ideas out there. Feedback is great and I tank you all again. Keep it coming.

The league sounds great, myself and a friend have always wanted something with as much realism as possible but(sorry, theres always a but) I think the way specialists are used can be better than what it seems like you have planned so far. Putting specific goals and, or area requierments takes away realistic use of their abilities. For example requiering snipers to hit X targets or shoot from towers. Besides, fake targets have no bussiness here. It restricts the teams ability to be creative and overcome unforseen obsticals. To encourage not only specialists use, but TRUE use, give them abilities that others dont have. Gunners can have more ammo and full auto, snipers can crono higher, etc. I know there has to be restictions for safty reasons so maybe the gunner has to crono slower if he wants full auto and the sniper can only use his primary weapon when he's behind a certain line and the opposition is behind another. We could even say screw it just sign insurance waivers to let feild owners and organizers off the hook and make our own rules, within reason of course. Where I live there is only outlaw feilds and Ive been hit with 350+ fps and full auto(not at the same time thankfully) and its not that big a deal. You have an 18yr min age req. already anyway. I know this subject has been touched on already but I think its an important one. Oh well, thats my 2 cents for now, Ive got more but Ill wait.

I agree with God Father about the speficic goals and requirements.  I think it somewhat takes away from the realism.

Yes I agree too with that idea, Snipers should shot at moving targets so there you have it. They will.  :)
