JERSEYS How Do You Feel About Them
« on: Dec 03, 2006, 06:22:24 PM »
OK. I have checked my emails and my PM's and I see a lot of questions about the "No Bright Jersey Uniform Rule" I want to help all out and to make it your league. The players league. So I like the feedback from all. And I thank you all for it. I also want to post this "poll" that will end before the year is up. Please vote what you feel you would like to see in this league, and then we will take it from there. Thank you once again to all.

Would not like to see anything jersey related period.
Even if they are camo or sudbued it still looks cheap and flashy.
The spec-ops line is about the best I have seen and you still would ever catch me in them.

I voted BDU's only.

I understand the tactical side of the rules. But there are alot of awesome Scenario teams out there that have Sponcers that have that they where their team jerseys during compitition. This should be a league of the best Tactics not Best Dressed.

I say let all compeat. If they are wearing bright colors good luck to the snipers on the stalk.

Just my 2 Cents.

HI,
now my team uses Urban BDU bottoms, with our Black/White/Grey jerseys/uniforms. So i dont know if they would be alloud or not.
Now, should they be aloud, o yeah. There are alot of teams (expessially in this area) that are top notch and have said that they would be all over this game, but a dress code is in their way. Teams like Delta, Voodoo, Ambush Alpha, and Myself with Hashido (to name a few) all have agreements with our sponsors and we have to wear our jerseys at events.

So ur rules, but if this is a players league, let everyone play, this wont be speedball, the 50rd hopper rule will enforce that....
My 2 cents

Just Registered Today.

BDU or Tactical Uniforms Only.

If you allow Jerseys then what next. Any good unit (and their sponsor) should be prepared! Its what an extra $50 for Surplus Camo Top/Bottom.

Proper Planning!

Just my two cents.

This should be a league of the best Tactics not Best Dressed.
I understand that how your dressed shouldn't effect how you play.
On the subject though, you can go to any field across the globe and run across a pish posh of people in jerseys, Old army surplus BDU's and poeple in high speed low drag gear.
You can go to any scenario game no matter how it's booked and billed and find the same.

There is a growing number of people like myself however that are just plain tired of it.
We want to take paintball in a direction that is not bieng pursued to our likeing, I don't want to eliminate speedball, I don't want to ban woodsball nor shut down the big scenario games I just simply want to steer things into the course  of action for the games that I would like to see w/out bieng influenced by outside  objectives.

Think about the fact that it's not technically illegial to show up to a speedball game in Marpat and a chest rig but I sure would be laughed at, harrased and felt like I was ruining thier good time for bieng there.

so your saying you want to alienate people from woodsball like people do from speedball?  thats the thing i've always liked about woods/scenario is that everyone is accepted. sure, theres always going to be a struggle between the two on some level, but most of the people at the event i've been to have been very inviting to the speedballers, no matter what they wear.

the poll doesnt seem to be going my way, but my thoughts on this are that your team should be required to have a uniform, but what that is is up to you. i know we want to go for a tactial look, but you're going to be missing out on a large section of the northwestern woodsball/scenario base, especially the big teams like delta who are from the NJ area, if you say it has to be bdu's.

so if you want to do the same thing to the "speedballers"(which these teams clearly are not) as you seem to think they've done to you, thats fine. but you'll be missing out on alot of really good teams just on what i see as a silly principle.

1. Bright jersey's are good for getting light up more easily.

2. This is a tactical based event.  If people are wearing bright jersey's it doesn't look tactical.  It'll look like a speedball event.

Speedball, to my knowledge, doesn't have any rules about what your out fit looks like but everyone wears bright jersey's all the same because its' considered "speedball".  For scenario games you get guys wearing jeans, bright speedball jersey's, BDU's, bunny outfits, X-Men, Spider-Man, Power Rangers and every other thing imagine able.  If this event is truly to be different than speedball and scenario, it needs to not only feel different when playing, but seem it as well.  Also, if you're gun can't be "flashy", why should your outfit be "flashy"?  Makes no sense.

Well, that's my opinion guys.

I think a team should be able to wear their jersey if it is required by their sponsors. If someone is just wearing a jersey to be different then I say no way. It seems to me that most teams are required by their sponsors to wear a jersey, so I say let them wear what they want to wear. Bright colors will only make it easier for us to spot them. ;)

i can come up with a couple teams/players that'd argue with your point there.

No yuo miss my point I don't want to alienate, belittle or diss anyone.
I simply want to be able to be apart of something that is an actual undiluted %100 Mil-Sim.
There are 101 opportunities at anytime to be apart of speedball, woodsball, scenario but nothing that is pure Mil-Sim w/out going to Airsoft...and I'm not into Airsoft.

If there are teams that have to absolutely have jerseys becouse of sponsership, wouldn't they be able to try and talk to thier sponsers about getting a tactical uniform w/the company logo on it?
I mean if that's the league standard and the company wanted to make it's presence w/in it by sending a team there would they have a problem conforming to the standards?

I'm sure you can.  But over all, most teams with speedball jerseys stick out like a sore thumb in the woods.  I'm sure there are some teams out there who can play well in the woods and be invisible even with bright jerseys, but not most.
