« on: Nov 03, 2008, 11:32:24 AM »
I would like from the plays/staff/refs/sponsors and everyone there to list your feedback about the league this year. This will help us make 2009 and many more years even better then this pass weekend. Thank you.

Make solid rules. They've changed quite a bit in one day so it really through most of us off.

the bad thing about being the 2008 Champs is i type anything and it wont be a sore loser, lol. good thing is it will hopefully be taken into consideration.

1.more consistency amongst the refs.

2.dont change rules from the time you post them up.

3.remove any and all non-playing or dead players from the field and remove their radios. i heard a few people off field reporting in to people still on the field.

4. make the law targets a bit larger or a bit easier to hit from 50 yds. its not as easy as you think.

5. double up on the ref crew

6. have someone else run the swat house challenge. someone who isnt a player or wont make it his personally little game. its a challenge to test the players skill not a private game.

7. give every ref his/her own whistle and synced watch.

8. make each ref read and understand the rules.

9. if the players should be wearing their goggles so should ALL refs on the field.

more to come later.

i agree about the refs, i understand that it is difficult to ref this sport, but it seemed there were to many missed calls, and one game i was watching, a team only had half its team ready, so when the the whistle blew it was 5 on 10, the 10 rolled threw the 5, then the other 5 came in from the far side of the field, about 6 minutes into the game, and it was allowed, i really disagree with that because you have guys who are working hard to get there on time to play there game, and theres no punishments for the guys who come in late, now when the other guys came in it took time away from the team so they couldnt finish there mission in time, i have an up close video of the entire event

Coming from the winners themselves, couldn't say it better myself! Great game guys!

i dont wana sound like a cry baby on this one, but this might be a good point, idk u guys decide, but that all guns use the 50 tac hoppers, i saw alot of ppl with top of hte line guns with halos n stuff, but they had modified them, i think that kinda gives them an advantage over a player with a regular brass eagle pocket hopper b/c they can still unload realy quick, so it really makes it a werid speed ball game, just less shots fired, this is called Tactical Ten Paintball League for a reason, so mayb u could think a little bit on this one  :D

just to add to that, i second this opinion and i wold like to see a rule put in place of "only Tactical Markers".  Since it is the Tactical Ten Paintball League.  so, maybe just something to think about.

for example, XIII (no hard feelings or anything, just using you as an example)  they used their speedball guns and halo/ velocity hoppers and ego/ angel/ mini  etc.   they are faaasst guns.
Now, my team almost all use BT's  or Tipmans.  2 have spiders and yes they have told me, it is at an unfair advantage to use a "VL Pocket hopper"

just some food for thought :)

Just so you are aware we, the 13th, were equipped and had planned to play with 50 rd BE/Winchester hoppers up until the time that the rule set was amended to allow 'modified' electronic hoppers. Once that change was made we opted to use the 'modified' hoppers as it does provide an advantage. Last years event the concept of keeping within the confines of the 'tactical' was pushed a bit harder but it was difficult, to say the least, to enforce. I made the suggestion at one point that running the event with supplied RAP4 markers would level the equipment race and put the 'tactical' aspect on display more so than the equipment.
Just for the record 4 out of our 10 players ran 50 rd hoppers or no hoppers all weekend. Camo ran a KP2DF with a 50 rd BE, Shutter ran a Tac8 then a mechanical spyder w/ 50 rd hopper for the last game only, BigDog shot his Droid with a BE pocket hopper and Freak had a 50rd tac cap on his A5. I personally ran a Bob Long Marq6 with a modified velocity hopper, it was the same gun I won the sniper challenge with.

I don't think anyone will call you a 'crybaby' or anything else for that matter for pointing out some of the inequities that appeared over the weekend. Those are the type of concerns that need to be addressed so that the league can evolve in the direction the players want. Speedball guns, or however you want to tag them, have become a part of the game so much so that you have to be careful how you go about categorizing them otherwise you wind up keeping SP8, TM7, the MTAC and a few other mil-sim markers locked out of use. Tell Herc what you guys want to see so he can work on making it happen.

One other thing to consider is how the overall rule set impacts players and their equipment. Case in point is the 3 shot rule. Last game of the day we played DILLIGAF and two of their guys come across the bridge with a shield. Now normally I would put one each on them and be done with it, in this case each got 3. Thing is Frenchie did the same from another angle and Freak was on them as well at my six. Had the normal rules applied those guys would have caught maybe an extra shot each, instead they got probably 5 more than was needed due to a player needed to take 3 consecutive hits to be called dead.

Just a few things I took note of over the course of the weekend, some will be repeats.
1: Rule sets- publish them and leave them be. Either the teams comply or they lose points, that simple.
2: Refs- Just like any other tournament the refs need to be briefed on and understand the rules. Time keeping needs to be maintained and there should be a master clock with the timekeeping ref for all others refs to match with. Not to be harsh but the waitresses were a poor reflection on those refs that we working hard, nice girls lousy refs.
3: Safety- Goggles on, PERIOD, past the line. No excuses, no exceptions. This includes refs. Chronos checks before entering play. This wasn't so much of a concern until I found out you were allow to raise your FPS for the sniper challenge but no one was checking or removing your chrono band if you raised your velocity.
BARREL BAGS- With 80 players it was disgraceful how many times players needed to be told to bag their markers. This was an event catering to experienced, seasoned players and there should have been no reason so many were walking around without BBDs on off the field.

On a side note may I recomend the removal from play the Bridges over the River Skip as I believe the scap wood and dry wall screws he built them out of are finally giving way.  ;D

and a prime example of WHY we NEED to put them on our guns, is: one team player from Resivior Dogs(i believe), he had a malfunctioning SP-1 and it was randomly shooting, after he got out of the SWAT house.  and it was randommly kickin into full auto and just firring away without him touchin the trigger, so make sure you all ware a condom :)
